SIGNS OF TERMITE INFESTATION

      FOLLOWING ARE SOME OF THE SINGS OF TERMITE :

1.  Soil tunnels on walls Mostly, termites build mud tunnels on walls to dwell. These tunnels help them to make free movements as well. Sometimes these tunnels can be as long as all walls of the building. This is the most common sign of termite infestation
2.  Flying termites  & discarded wings –Flying termites are first sign of termite infestation. In addition, the flying termites might drop their wings. These dropped wings are another sign.
3.  Hollow sounding timber Whenever, there is a doubt of termite infestation. the first thing advised is to know knock the wooden article. if it is sounding hollow, there is a possibility of infestation.
4. Door/window  hard to open window - Presence of termite in wood can create moisture in the wood. As a result, the size of wooden articles(doors, windows etc.) increase making it hard to open.
5. Tunnels in the wood - Termites make tunnels in the wood for free movement. These tunnels are not visible from outside.
6. Termite droppings - After the wood consumption, termites leave behind brown colored faecal mounds.
